Retire with Confidence.

Our three-step planning process works to help identify and implement suitable financial strategies for helping our clients meet their needs and achieve their goals and objectives for retirement.

Start Smart

Get a Clear Understanding of Your Financial Life

First, we gain a thorough understanding of your current financial situation, goals, objectives, risk tolerance, and the key considerations that should be addressed in your retirement strategy.

Six Fundamental Financial Planning Considerations

Six key financial planning considerations can impact your financial goals now and in the future. The question is not if these will affect your finances, but to what degree. We evaluate your sentiment toward each consideration and quantify the potential effects on your assets over time. This allows us to build customized strategies to help you achieve your financial objectives for retirement.

John Lawrence, Founder and President

I started Camino Advisory Group after spending over 30 years in the financial services industry. During my career, I noticed some issues with how financial advisors provide advice, especially in big firms. Here’s what I observed:

  1. Lack of Fiduciary Standard: Big firms claim to follow a fiduciary standard, legally bound to act in the client’s best interest. However, in reality, advisors are often limited by the company’s preferences, offering products and services based on a pay-to-play system.
  2. Preferred Vendor Lists: Advisors are directed to use preferred vendors, who pay the firm higher compensation. Bonuses based on production are not disclosed to the advisor or the client, leading to potential conflicts of interest.
  3. Pay-to-Play System: Advisors frequently switch firms not for better service but due to contractual relationships. New firms pay advisors a significant sum to bring their client base, benefiting both the advisor and the new firm, but raising questions about who bears the cost.
  4. Client Disputes: When an advisor leaves a firm, client lists are divided or legal disputes arise, leaving clients and advisors in difficult situations due to the institutional systems.

My pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain allowed me to break free from work-related thoughts. It inspired me to create a client-oriented system, free from bias and conflicts of interest. I am a truly independent advisor, committed to a fiduciary standard, focusing on helping clients achieve a sustainable retirement income.
